This section is for understanding how to use the Security Settlement object. Security Settlement is used with Opportunity and Payment records to represent the settlement of a security sale.

Custom fields included are listed below. Use the fields needed for your process to track the details of a security settlement. Some fields are populated on the Payment record (non-cash record type)

• Amount Sold
• Broker Fee Amount
• Gain (Loss) Amount
• Gain (Loss) on Shares Sold
• Number of Shares Sold
• Payment
• Proceeds Amount
• Proceeds from Sale
• Selling Share Price
• Settlement Date
• Trade Date

• From the Payment record (a non-cash record type), click Security Settlement button

• This launches a flow, Security Settlement - Input
• Enter Shares Sold, Trade Date, Settlement Date, Selling Share Price and Broker Fees
• Click Complete

• Settlement Data now appears on the Payment record and a new Security Settlements record is related.

• A Security Settlement record contains details about the sale of the security. Note the Accounting section is available if Fund 360 package is used with Account Seed.
